How are we keeping our employees and clients safe?

In response to California Governor Newsom’s Executive Order N-33-20 for response to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), McDonnell Roofing, Inc. (MDR) has provided a policy memorandum to our employees for precautions to control the spread of the virus. This policy is based on the current environment and direction from Public Health Departments and is subject to change based on the latest health directives.

The construction industry is exempt from the requirements of the Executive Order N-33-20 for all Californians to stay at home until further notice (https://covid19.ca.gov/stay-home-except-for-essential- needs/). MDR is a key partner in providing essential construction services to government clients, food industry, and other critical sectors covered by the Department of Homeland Security’s CISA office in a bulletin issued March 19, 2020 and incorporated into Executive Order N-33-20 (https://www.cisa.gov/identifying-critical-infrastructure-during-covid-19).

Therefore, MDR is maintaining operations to support these industries and clients unless and until further direction is provided. Included in our policy memo are the following safety protocols as recommended by the CDC while working on essential projects:

1. Stop handshaking – use other noncontact methods of greeting

2. Wash Hands thoroughly with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Use hand sanitizer with at

   least 60% alcohol if you do not have access to soap and water.

3. Keep Social Distancing of six (6) feet or greater (approximately two (2) arms-length apart)

4. Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or use the inside of your elbow.

5. Cover face with approved N95 or surgical mask, or re-usable cloth face covering.
